Brussels Beer Project Babylone is a pioneering beer that is the first of its kind to be brewed with recycled bread. This so-called "Bread IPA" was born out of a desire to combine the art of brewing with sustainability by reusing unsold bread. At the end of last year, the original Babylone recipe was revised and tested in a prototype competition against three new recipes, all based on recycled bread. The new recipe won out, making the beer even more accessible to a wider target group. This innovative brewing process recycles around 10 tonnes of bread waste every year, making Babylone not only a flavour highlight, but also a symbol of sustainable brewing. The future is circular, and Brussels Beer Project is leading the way.
