Chimay Rouge is a traditional Trappist beer that impresses with its copper-red colour and complex, full-bodied character. With an alcohol content of 7% and a balanced bitterness of 21 IBU, this top-fermented beer offers a harmonious balance between fruity and malty notes. Aromas of figs, nutmeg and a light roasted malt note unfold on the first sip, while the rich flavour of dried fruit, cinnamon, spices and nuts becomes clear in the finish. A pleasant malty sweetness rounds off the flavour experience. Chimay Rouge is served at a recommended drinking temperature of 11°C and is an excellent accompaniment to poultry, fish and white meat. This beer is traditionally re-fermented in the bottle and is neither filtered nor pasteurised, thus fully preserving its natural aromas. Contains gluten.
