Diebels Altbier offers a fiery, chestnut-brown beer flavour with a medium-pored head. The first olfactory impression is of burning caramel, which becomes nutty and conceals notes of coffee and fruity sultanas. As expected, the flavour is roasted malt-accentuated, dry and combines tart prunes with dark bread. The texture is creamy, with strong, fine-pearled carbon dioxide and a dry, spicy finish.
