Estrella Damm is a Mediterranean lager beer specifically developed for the climatic conditions of the Mediterranean region. Unlike the heavier beers from Central and Northern Europe, which are designed for cooler temperatures, Estrella Damm is lighter and more refreshing in taste. This uniqueness is due to the fact that the brewery opened its own production facility and developed a recipe there that is ideal for warm weather and Mediterranean cuisine. This gave rise to a beer style now known as Mediterranean lager.
