The India Pale Ales (IPA) of the North American West Coast revolutionised the beer world in the 1980s and 1990s, first in North America and later in Europe and worldwide in the early 2000s, and - we are convinced - forever. Microbreweries in New England and Vermont have in turn revolutionised India Pale Ales in recent years. Hardly recognised for years, New England IPAs are now creating a completely new drinking experience. Beer has never tasted like this before.
They are juicy and super fruity. Juicy and super fruity. While the malty body skilfully balances out the bitterness of the West Coast IPA and the hoppiness of West Coast IPAs is often grassy and vegetal, the New England IPA is characterised by a juicy fullness and a fabulous fruitiness.
New England IPA, Vermont IPA, Hazy IPA or Juicy IPA is the name of the beer style that is once again revolutionising the beer world after the West Coast IPAs of the 1980s and 1990s. An incredibly instructive brewing experience for us brewers - a completely new drinking experience for beer lovers.
Once conceived as a one-off collaboration brew with the great guys from Braukollektiv Freiburg (Germany) in summer 2018, we've been brewing it ever since. In the meantime, it has also been given its own well-deserved name. We've felt a bit like Alice in Wonderland over the past two years brewing this fantastic beer.
