Kofola Original is the legendary Czechoslovak herbal soft drink that has been brewed since 1962 as an independent and proud Central European answer to Coca-Cola. Its history began in the communist era when the pharmaceutical company Galena in Opava was looking for a use for excess caffeine from coffee roasting and invented the distinctive dark Kofo syrup. The syrup consists of 14 natural ingredients, balanced in such a way that the unique Kofola taste is created, with caramelized sugar and especially herbal extracts such as raspberry syrup, blackberry, strawberry and raspberry leaves, cinnamon, licorice, as well as apple, cherry, and currant extracts providing the distinctive sweet-spicy aroma. Kofola Original is much more than a soft drink – it is a piece of national identity and lived nostalgia, best enjoyed fresh on tap in Czech and Slovak pubs, and with its incomparable slogan "If you love her, nothing else matters," it has won the heart of an entire nation.
