La Trappe Isid'or was brewed in 2009 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Trappist monastery Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven and is named after Brother Isidorus Laaber, the monastery's first brewmaster. This beer honors Brother Isidorus, who began brewing the first Trappist beer at the abbey in 1884, laying the foundation for La Trappe's brewing tradition today.
