La Trappe Isid'or was brewed in 2009 for the 125th anniversary of the Trappist monastery Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven and is named after Brother Isidorus Laaber, the monastery's first master brewer. This beer honours Brother Isidorus, who began brewing the first Trappist beer in the abbey in 1884, thus laying the foundation for La Trappe's current brewing tradition. La Trappe Isid'or is characterised by a harmonious taste that begins with fruity notes and fades into a malty caramel sweetness, offering a perfect balance between complexity and simplicity. Originally intended as a one-off tribute, La Trappe Isid'or has been so well received that it is now part of La Trappe's standard collection. This beer celebrates the tradition and wisdom of Brother Isidorus and is very popular with beer lovers.
