Liefmans Goudenband is a traditional Belgian sour beer that belongs to the category of "Old Brown" beers and delights with its complex, slightly sour note. It is brewed according to a traditional recipe and refined by blending young beer with beer aged for at least 12 months, which gives the beer its characteristic taste and additional depth. This process reactivates fermentation and creates a distinctive aroma profile reminiscent of West Flemish Flanders Red Ales. Liefmans Goudenband matures for an average of 12 months, developing a balanced combination of malty, fruity, and sour notes. Since 2008, the Liefmans brewery has been part of the Duvel-Moortgat family and proudly carries the label "Belgian Family Brewers," which stands for the high quality and tradition of the beer.
