Shiner Bock is a traditional American bock beer from the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas. The amber to dark brown beer is characterized by a pleasantly malty and slightly sweet taste. Notes of roasted malt and caramel meet a subtle hop bitterness, making Shiner Bock smooth, balanced, and easy to drink. The beer is brewed, among other ingredients, with barley malt and hops. With an alcohol content of around 4.4% vol., it is comparatively light for a bock beer. Shiner Bock pairs especially well with grilled meat, burgers, and hearty dishes and is one of the best-known beers from the Texan brewery.
