Ginger Beer "Ginger Beer" is a carbonated, non-alcoholic soft drink with a hot and spicy ginger flavour. The soft drink is similar to ginger ale, but contains more ginger and therefore tastes much more intense. The origins of ginger beer lie in 18th century England, from where it was exported early on, particularly to the North American colonies. Ginger beer was originally an alcoholic drink that was brewed like beer. The alcohol content fell from around 11% to less than 2% in the 19th century.
