The Appenzellerbier Zimtbschorle non-alcoholic is a seasonal winter specialty from the Locher brewery, based in Appenzell since 1886, launched for the 10th anniversary of the original Bschorle – which was introduced in 2016 as a fruity-fresh blend of apple, pear, and beer – and with its unique combination of the natural sweetness of Appenzeller apples and pears from 28 different varieties in the Oberegg region, high-quality barley malt, spring water from the Alpstein, and a fine, gently spicy cinnamon note, transforms the original summer Bschorle into a distinctive drink for the cooler season. Fruity, fresh, and pleasantly spicy, the Zimtbschorle combines the sparkling character of a genuine Appenzeller Bschorle with the cozy winter scent of cinnamon and dried fruits into an uncomplicated, non-alcoholic enjoyment that – as managing director Aurèle Meyer aptly puts it – smells like "winter, a warm room, and home," while simultaneously supporting around 250 members of the IG Appenzeller Obst through fair prices for their high-stem apples and pears.
